The girl at the left fills empty jars from the funnel which is fed directly from the cream room above. The jars are then placed on a moving belt where other girls adjust the tops, paste on labels and place the jars in boxes, ready for shipment.

All bottles are sterilized with boiling water and filled by machinery. Automatically regulated faucets fill them to just the right level, after which they are corked or capped, polished, labels pasted on and placed in containers to await the receipt of your orders.

Here all orders from territories east of the Mississippi are filled. Orders from territories west of the Mississippi are filled at Kansas City; Canadian orders at the Montreal office. A girl places a copy of the order before her on a truck. She then circulates among the shelves where every product in the CPC line is stored. As she places in the basket whatever is called for, she checks off the item. The completed order is again gone over by the checker; also by a packer, who checks it again when packed, thus reducing to a minimum the possibility of error.

After the order has been filled and packed it descends on a gravity conveyor to the Shipping Department where it is made ready for shipment. A representative of the U. S. Post Office is detailed to the plant to supervise parcels post shipments. Your order is now ready to go out.

OFF TO YOU!

Every effort is made to ship orders the same day they are received. There is a spur of the Erie Railroad at the plant door and an express car leaves daily at 4 p.m. Express orders shipped at this hour have been received as far away as Richmond, Virginia, the next morning.
