Site Vision Statement

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) The above verse is found within the poetic writings of the Hebrew scriptures (the Christian Old Testament.) The verse concludes with, "but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." The concept of finding a purpose and focusing on the success of that purpose is as old as time. Having a vision based on a firm belief, or desire, helps us navigate through the sea of life. Without a vision, a person often lists aimlessly through life battered about by winds and storms and difficulties...often achieving little to nothing. A vision helps define a goal and serves to motivate, or to be a catalyst, that keeps one driving forward to progress and success! Since the beginning of the California Perfume Company (CPC) web site in February 2002, my vision has remained resolute: that this web site would serve as the veritable online encyclopedia of "all things" related to the California Perfume Company and early-Avon (chronicles, people, products, collector's helps, etc.) This is no easy task that can simply be accomplished by one person—it requires help from CPC and Avon collectors, diverse and unique, across this world. Working together, this web site will promote and enhance the hobby of California Perfume Company and early-Avon collecting. More importantly, this web site will stand as a testimonial to the entrepreneurial spirit embodied in Mr. David Hall McConnell, Sr. He clearly left an indelible and enduring mark in the annuals of our proud American history.
