Violet: Of the five original California Perfume Company fragrances (Heliotrope, Hyacinth, Lily of the Valley, Violet, and White Rose), only Violet was expanded into its own fragrance line similar to American Ideal, Daphne, Trailing Arbutus, etc. From the company's earliest days, the Violet fragrance line comprised Violet Perfume, Violet Toilet Water, Violet Almond Meal, and Violet Sachet Powder as recorded on/in an early- to mid-1890's General Manager's Business Card; a mid-1890's CPC Order Form; and the 1896 CPC Catalog. An important note: some Violet perfume bottle variants are not in this section. This CPC fragrance was offered in virtually every bottle and label combination. Please also see the Floral Perfume section of this web site for other Violet Perfume bottle and label examples. |
