The Trailing Arbutus Launched by the California Perfume Company in 1900, the Trailing Arbutus frangrance line became one of the company's most popular, continuously sold throughout the CPC era (through 1939) and well into the Avon Products, Inc. period. Trailing Arbutus was removed from the Avon fragrance line-up in 1948; however, this superior odor has been re-released in several Anniversary Keepsakes and in special offers over the years. As a personal note, this is by far my favorite CPC/Avon fragrance! For the first 14 years of production, Trailing Arbutus was offered ONLY as a Quadruple Extract perfume. Then in 1914, the Trailing Arbutus Talcum Powder was introduced followed one year later by the Trailing Arbutus Powder Sachet and the Trailing Arbutus Gift Box set (Gift Box T). From 1916 onward, an extensive range of Trailing Arbutus products were introduced. Please note that since the Trailing Arbutus perfume was packed in almost every possible CPC perfume container (like the bottle manufactured from 1900 to 1906 seen to the immediate left), only those bottles and packages specifically manufactured for the Trailing Arbutus fragrance line are shown in this section. |
